Why the local part matters
Porto’s older homes are a particular kind of building: granite walls, timber floors and roofs, azulejo-clad facades and flat terraces, all living with a damp Atlantic climate. Knowing how these buildings age is what lets an inspector tell the harmless from the expensive.
Newer parts of the city and the surrounding municipalities bring different questions: reinforced-concrete frames, waterproofing in new-builds, and developer warranties. We inspect both, and the report tells you which kind of problem you are looking at.
